Oak Park Released Inmates
Oak Park released inmates records are managed by the Oak Park Police Department and the Cook County Sheriff's Office. The village has about 53,300 residents and borders Chicago's west side in Cook County. Oak Park does not have its own jail. All arrests lead to booking at the Cook County facility. The police department uses a JustFOIA portal for records requests and also provides online reporting for certain incidents. The Cook County Inmate Locator is where you check on jail bookings and releases. Both resources give you free access to search for released inmates from Oak Park.

Oak Park has adopted the 10 Shared Principles from the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and the NAACP. The department puts a strong emphasis on de-escalation. Officers are required to try communication before using force when possible, under General Order 4.38. Chokeholds and carotid restraints are not used and not even trained. Officers must report policy violations by other officers immediately under Rule 43. These policies shape how the department handles all interactions, including arrests that lead to inmate records.

Oak Park also lets you file certain types of reports online. Non-emergency incidents like package theft, graffiti, lost property, and vehicle break-ins can be reported through the website. These online reports feed into the same records system as in-person filings. If you need the actual report after filing, you can request a copy through FOIA.
The department publishes activity reports on the website. The activity reports page has data on police calls, incidents, and arrests. This is a good way to get a general sense of what is happening in Oak Park without filing a formal request.
